Ritual:

“Adeptly layering her plucked and bowed sounds into cultured, one woman orchestral arrangements that glide elegantly through the speakers…her sound gamely ambles between softer edged neoclassical, classic singer songwriter, string powered ambient pop & ethereal folk troubadour…an assured debut.” - The Slow Music Movement

“Six gorgeous, meditative tracks in the vein of 2017 Julien Baker or Adrianne Lenker with a bent towards Lia’s powerful cello orchestration.” - Natural Music

“…[A] missing link between the Andrew Bird of the great era and the dream-pop of Hope Sandoval...one to follow closely.” - Indie Rock Mag

I released my debut EP, Ritual, in February of 2024. Ritual was written as a meditation on cultivating awareness through repetition - of what happens to our inner and outer worlds when we continuously engage in ritual. Each track is built off of either recorded melodies from nature transposed for cello (bird song, wind) or biodata sonification - the translation of electric impulses within living organisms into sound. Ritual was written and performed by me, recorded and mixed by Charlie Dahlke and mastered by Andrew Goldring.
